The lady is as great as she is fair. Aragorn’s reverence has said it, and Legolas’ song has said it, and Merry’s wide eyes have said it.
The lady is a terrible as she is wise. Gimli’s mutterings have said it, and Boromir’s manner has said it and her eyes have said it.
So Pippin is not without fear when she stands beside him. The other’s words ring in his ears, and struggles to find something of his own to say.
Words failing, he simply bows. She smiles, and Pippin realizes how she came to be called Lady of Light.
