MEFAs are a fanfic award. Middle-earth Fanfiction Award is what it stands for, I think. I was nominated for one. But I feel bad because someone else didn't, and you know -- blergh.

I had 2 bad experiences with fanfics back in the day. One of mine was put on an extremely popular website under the 'Worst Series Ever' heading. And some random person wrote a hugely long e-mail bashing everything I'd ever written. So ever since then I haven't written a single one (although I still write poetry and novels and such) and I only just recently got back into reading them.

I had this sort of bisexual mary sue couple who appeared in my first fanfics and as well as shagging each other (one was a girl and one was a guy) they shagged a load of the canon characters too and then they broke up and he had this alien implantation pregnancy thing and nearly died and they got back together again. And the odd thing is that some people actually enjoyed it! I'm glad I don't use the same name online as I did then.
