Drabble

T. asked me to ruin Eowyn and Faramir's marriage. So I did. I'm not sure I'm entirely pleased with the results- The rhythm of it feels right, but...meh. Also, I am a comma fiend, or so it seems. :D

Title: Distance

He had given her everything he could. Hope, life, a home, someone to love. He doted on her, tended to her, lived his life for her. And far too often, through her. As they aged together, he withdrew, asked her to continue his affairs. He knew she disliked it, but she seemed to suffer it with love, for him.

Now, as he breathes his last, clutching weakly at her hand, she looks to their king who stands silently in the room.

Somehow, though he has given her everything, even this last breath, he knows that it had never been enough.

In other, slightly less spammy news, Mom and dad and the boy called today- was nice to talk to them. Talked mostly with the boy, I miss his company.

I'm really worn out from this week- earlier bedtimes in order, I suspect. 8 am classes everyday create a harsh existance. At least for me. But the roommate will be gone all weekend, I won't hardly know what to do with all the space and time to myself. Probably sleep- :-)

My sense from the novel was that Faramir married Eowyn because they were both in love with Aragorn, and figured having that in common would be good... *g*

Yeah, I kinda got that feeling too- that and he figured that she wouldn't mind them all sharing a bed. :D I don't understand why they all couldn't get along, but maybe that'll have to be my next project. After I finish the 38692 ones I'm working on now. *glares at work*

Oh, and I love that icon! The Extended Edition will be the death of me. *<3's Boromir and Faramir*

I can't stand Aragorn/Eowyn so I've never written A/E/F but I've written A/F and E/F with A all over the subtext. *G* Am in urgent need of Aragorn/Arwen/Eowyn/Faramir, that might have to be MY next project!
