1. What was your first electrifying moment (cinema, theatre, books, other) that really made you go "Wow, I really *get* this!"? (Or: what was your very first fannish obsession, and why?)
Gosh, I don't know! Honestly, I've been fannish for as long as I can remember. My grandma used to read me She-Ra books when I was three.
I really, really loved the Adam West Batman series as a kid and looking back now I realize I had an enormous crush on Barbra Gordon. XD
I think, honestly, watching/reading things like Labyrinth and Madeline L'Engel or Lloyd Alexander. They were the ones who made me realize I loved sci fi and fantasty.
2. What is your most memorably scenic view? Describe in all the detail you can recall.
When we were driving from Sweden to Norway, the landscape change was unbelievable. From rolling hills to these green wild cliffs in about three seconds flat. In particular I remember crossing a toll bridge and looking down into this fjord. It felt like visiting another planet only to find you'd come home.
This is tied with walking along the North Shore of Lake Superior. The cliff faces there are very different than Norway, obviously. They're red and gray and craggy where Norway is green and lush. Anyway, we were wandering in the fog and down into a pine grove right along the beach. The lake was absolutely black and everything was gray and shadowed. It was, for the lack of a better word, ghostly.
3. What happened on the most hilariously terrible day/week/month of your life?
Uh, I can remember only a very few hilariously awful things. One of them was just a few weeks ago when my computer broke, my favorite earrings broke, etc, etc. I went to try and put lotion on my face and the pump on the bottle wouldn't work. I walked out of the bathroom and said to everyone present "Guys. Everything I own is BROKEN." in the saddest voice possible.
They laughed. Eventually I did too.
4. It's the Apocalypse. What's your survival plan?
Oh, you have no idea how much I've thought about this.
In short? I'd head to my parent's church because if it's location (on a big patch of land near several water sources) and attempt to start a tribe. :D
5. If you had a 'fantasy' group that met IRL every month to wear costumes and have tea, what would your ideal social group be?
Hmmm. I'm not quite sure what you mean by this one. What would we dress as or who would I be with?
...I will answer both. It would be different every month-- steampunk, victorian england, WWII america, homer's greece, etc. I would want the people I'm with to be good enough at research and acting to really sink into it and get totally lost in the roles.
...yeah, I always wanted to be one of those historical tour guides that acted the part when I was younger. I'd still do it.
I know I'm terribly behind on comments. I appreciate you all, really! I'm just too ADD to deal right now. <3.
