Title: The Benifits of Spying
Characters: Pippin, Aragron/Boromir

Notes: For tigatog100's "blind" challenge. Characters belong to Tolkien, making no money, etc.



It felt like spying.

Pippin consoled himself with the fact that it wasn’t, not really. It’s just…following.

Besides, Boromir had looked troubled and in this place, even under the protection of Galadriel, who knew what could happen?

Boromir was speaking passionately about his city to Aragorn. Pippin could hear the love in his voice.

He wasn’t really surprised when Aragorn kissed Boromir, not after a speech like that. When it was clear that neither man had any intention of simply kissing, Pippin decided it was time to turn a blind eye, with knowledge in his heart.

Spying had its rewards.

I read almost no slash these days, but this pulled me in - it had a lovely, half veiled quality that invokes it's setting.

I tried very hard to blend the movie and the books in this- it's an uncertain place, but ultimately, peace is found. At least for Boromir, I think. I truly think he comes to terms with his death in Lorien, some part of him knows he will be redeemed. Aragorn has his own demons to wrestle with after Boromir's death.
