fantasticmuseGetting ready to leave for Spain- 10 days abroad. That will be nice. But instead of packing, I wrote a Matrix ficlet and now I'm going to subject you lot to it. *eg*

A/N: Um. The song lyrics are from History Repeating by Propellerheads. I think the rest is self-explanatory. I'm not sure if this is coherent enough, though.
They say the next big thing is here;
Zion hummed. It hustled and twisted and pulsed as The Nebuchadnezzar settled down to rest. Morpheus strode off his ship, straight to his rooms. Neo and Trinity followed, they went slowly to allow Neo time to adjust to Zion and let it welcome him. Along the way people began to stop and stare, Neo heard whispers everywhere he went.
“Is that him?”
“Morpheus thinks he is The One.”
“It could be him, or not- time will tell.”
That the revolution’s near.
Lock sneered as Morpheus spoke to a group of people on the street. Every day the number of followers grew. It disgusted Lock- this talk of revolution and The One. He was concerned with the defense of Zion, and only that. Men like him had no time to dream of freedom, not when there was real work to do.
“Soon. It will happen soon.”
“And how do you know?”
“I can feel it- trust me, it will happen soon.”
But to me it seems quite clear:
The Kid followed Neo as he went about on day-to-day business, offering help, insisting. In his eyes there was no question. Neo was The One. And not only that, but he was The Kid’s One as well- a personal hero as well as a public icon. So where Neo went, The Kid followed.
“Neo?”
“Yeah, Kid, what is it?”
“I do believe in you. I know you are The One.”
That it’s all just a little bit of history repeating.
Above it all, tucked away in his room, The Architect smiled. It was time to begin again.
