The song that defines my life right now? "I Never" by Rilo Kiley.

I have been struggling to stay on my meds for the past few days. This is bad because my blood sugar is going to be fucked beyond all reason if I don't shape up. Sigh.

Tonight I feel plagued by insecurities, quite a contrast to last night's ambition. I'm fretting about this job business. I think this is caused by 80% insecurity and 20% thinking too damn much. The whatifs as Shel Silverstein would call them.

On the other hand, I'm re-reading "Monstrous Regiment" and that's always a delight.

And my iTunes has been doing its best to console me, playing "Strength, Courage, Wisdom" and "Safe and Sound" one after another without any prompting from me. *pets the iTunes oracle* Sometimes music's all you have, really.

I luv you...you're better than chocolate. (is that how the song goes?)

How did the camp thing turn out?

I may be hosting Sunday the 7th...depends on my car right now (keep your fingers crossed, I definitely need to get out of this town for a few days).

Awww, thank you!

Well, I got trained in at Shores today. Green on Monday. Seems like a pleasant job-- all the people were nice.

I -might- be home on Sunday. I'm going back up to JC that weekend, but I have no idea what time I'll be back on Sun/Mon.

*crosses fingers for you*

*pets the iTunes oracle*

I, too, have an iTunes oracle. It's a bit scary sometimes how it seems to match my mood.

Aaaaah Shel Silverstein. I used to love his books. My favorite is still the poem about the boy who loved the little deaf girl and never knew she was signing 'I love you' to him. Sweet.

It is a little freaky. >.> It's like it knows you!

I really like a lot of his stuff, too. I remember the poem you mentioned, I think, but not the name. Swiss cheese memory. I really love the invocation in A Light in the Attic, as well as all the classics like "What's in the Sack" and "Lazy Jane."

Hello, Elly-el. How are things going with your ode?

I have to leave early in the morning tomorrow, probably around six, so ~ let me know how you'd like to do posting, or if you'd prefer to put it off until you don't feel so stressed. I hope you see this before I have to go.

Heya, twin. I am working on the ode, but trochaic is hard. Somewhere along the way my brain decided that iambic was the only way to think. Silly brain.

I am still working on it-- hopefully I can be done in the next couple hours but I can't promise. I will keep you updated as the night goes on. :P Otherwise we maybe can just wait 'til you get back. How long will you be gone?

::big eyes:: Stephen said that they do it iambic in England pretty often, and his example was iambic, so mine turned out (mostly) iambic as well. Ahh, I feel like I didn't follow any of the rules at all! Maybe I should start again.

I don't know. I hope to be able to get to the library tomorrow, but that'll be by bike and if I take my sedative tonight I doubt I'll manage that tomorrow. I might just skip that, since I have to be able to wake up. ::tugs at my hair:: If not tomorrow, I should be able to get to the library or to Mom's house on Monday.

I'll keep checking back with you until I go to sleep and again before I leave in the morning.

*laugh* Stephen should share this fact far and wide, that's what I say. Rules are made to be broken, anyhow. :P

*snuggles* Don't fret. I will work my very hardest to have -something- up before dawn tomorrow. If I don't, shame on me and we'll just have to wait until you can post it.

Aww, my poor girl. Hope you're sleeping well, if not for long.

I finished the ode! Well. It's only two stanzas but they were the toughest of my life! The first is better than the second but that's okay.

Go ahead and post yours when you wake up. Imma put it here so you can see it, and then later tomorrow I will make a special post for it. =D

Hope you have a good day!

The Trick's in the Glass

Square frames, curved lens-- one look and I'm gone, each time.
Silk smiles, silk suits, you keep them: they don't suit me
The trick's in glass and one look can break and
make my heart shake-pound

Shed your dress and throw your new shoes away but
leave your glasses right where they are-- so you can
see my knees go weak and my eyes alight just
watching you be you
